The mission of the Foundation is to improve the quality of life for families and their communities through support of innovative projects and successful ongoing programs. To accomplish this mission, we are particularly interested in three strategic funding areas:
- Preserving and Strengthening Jewish Life and the Jewish People
- Fostering Access to and Appreciation of Performing Arts
- Enhancing the Well-Being of Children and Families
Howard and Geraldine Polinger established the Howard and Geraldine Polinger Family Foundation in 1968 to continue the family’s commitment to contribute to our community and carry out our legacy of Tzedakah (the Hebrew term for Righteousness). In 1995, Howard and Geraldine invited their children to join the Board and the third generation of family members began joining the Board in 2009. Today, our Board consists of Howard and Geraldine’s four children, as well as eight of their grandchildren.
We are committed to a grantmaking strategy that respects and honors Howard and Geraldine’s legacy, responds to current needs in the field, and maximizes the impact of philanthropic investments.
